Swimming Lessons

We offer kids swimming lessons in 8 week blocks. These lessons are for members only. Children must be 4 years of age in order to attend lessons. Please see below for more information about dates and our different levels we offer.

Junior Swim lessons

There will be no swim lessons the week of Monday the 27th to Sunday the 2nd.

Assessment week will be on the week of October 13th (week 6).

Our current term of swim lessons will finish the week of Monday the 3rd of November (week 8).

Booking for the next term will be available on week 7.
Current participants: Booking on Monday the 20th of October
New participants : Booking on Tuesday the 21st of October

Junior Swim levels

Level 1. Tadpoles (Complete beginners)

Minimum requirements: Child must be 4 years of age upon time of lesson and comfortable to enter water.

Outcomes of this level:

  • Understanding of basic pool rules
  • Enter and exit the pool safely
  • Submerge face fully in water and blow bubbles
  • Swim on front and back with support
  • Swim 5m with no support

Level 2. Starfish (Beginner)

Minimum requirements: Your child should be able to fully submerge head in water and comfortable in water without armbands.

Outcomes of this level:

  • Doggy paddle 5m with no armbands
  • Jump into water and turn onto back
  • Swim on front 10m with good arm movement
  • Swim 10m on back
  • Attempt breaststroke legs

Level 3. Orca (Improver)

Minimum requirements: your child should be able to perform front crawl and back crawl for 10m (technique is not important when entering this level).

Outcomes of this level:

  • Swim good front crawl 10m with a good attempt at breathing
  • Swim good back crawl and breaststroke 10m
  • Attempt head up front crawl 10m
  • Attempt butterfly legs 10m
  • Thread water 15 seconds

Level 4. Dolphin (Experienced)

Minimum requirements: your child should be able to perform front crawl and back crawl for 10m (technique is not important when entering this level).

Outcomes of this level:

  • Swim good front crawl, back crawl & breaststroke 20m
  • Attempt bilateral front crawl breathing
  • Attempt butterfly 20m
  • Head up front crawl 15m
  • Thread water 30 seconds

Level 5. Marlin (Advanced)

Minimum requirements: Your child should be able to perform front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke over 20m with good technique in all.

Outcomes of this level:

  • Swim good front crawl, back crawl & breaststroke 40m
  • Bilateral front crawl breathing
  • Swim good butterfly 20m
  • Head up front crawl 20m
  • Thread water 45 seconds

Level 6. Stingray (Elite)

Minimum requirements: You child should be able to swim front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke for 40m and swim butterfly for 20m.

Outcomes of this level:

  • Swim good front crawl 80
  • Swim good back crawl & breaststroke 60m
  • Good 40m head up front crawl, sidestroke and inverted breaststroke
  • Swim good butterfly 20m+
  • Thread water 60 seconds
